Policy Service Specialist (Bilingual)

The Policy Service Specialist is responsible for providing a high level of support and full service approach to Advisors and clients through the coordination, preparation and analysis of in-force illustrations for all carriers, responding to inquiries, and review of all contractual and, where appropriate, non-contractual changes.  

The Policy Service Specialist works as an integral member of the Policy Service team and will provide back up and support to the Policy Service team on case consultation and the production of more complex computer generated information such as presentation packages and illustrations, as well as other Policy Service related functions as required or assigned. 

Responsibilities:

• Consult with Advisors on in-force illustration requests, guiding and tailoring requests into meaningful and accurate illustrations

• Prepare policy illustrations that demonstrate solutions to problems under guidance from the Policy Service Consultants

• Review and analyze illustrations for accuracy, appropriateness and completeness

• Respond to queries from Advisors, Sales Support staff and Policy Service team members regarding in-force business for all product lines; consulting with carriers on all cases to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of service

• Ensure Advisors are informed in a timely proactive manner

• Assist Policy Service Consultants and/or New Business Consultants in the creation of presentation packages for complex cases, which may include the use of applets, graphics, etc.

• Provide back up and support to the Policy Service team as appropriate and as requested

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance or commerce desirable; or equivalent work experience

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in related capacity and service-oriented role

• Demonstrated strong understanding of life products

• Industry designation(s) as appropriate:  FLMI, ACS, AIAA, etc.

• Strong analytical skills in the areas of business concepts, mathematical and financial fundamentals

• Advanced degree of skill with Microsoft software applications, in particular, Outlook, Word, and Excel

• Excellent command of the capabilities of presentation software

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Effective interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships

• Exemplary organizational and time management skills with proven ability to handle multiple tasks and move between projects continuously

• Demonstrated, strong service-orientation

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner

• Excellent French and English language skills, both oral and written due to frequent interactions with French and English-speaking colleagues, internal partners and clients across Canada
